The essence of my brand, HEAVYWEIGHT, stems from a desire to encapsulate the resilient, determined spirit of the entrepreneurial community in New York City. I've redefined the term "heavyweight" to encompass a broader spectrum, feminizing and contemporizing it to include women. In my view, women embody the true essence of a heavyweight, bearing the weight of societal responsibilities and serving as the backbone of civilization. Hence, I've chosen to feature the black woman as the logo of my brand, symbolizing the ultimate heavyweight and mother of all civilization.

Furthermore, the street fashion industry has reached its peak but has plateaued due to repetitive, recycled content and outdated concepts. I’m tired of the same old street fashion poses, locations, and themes, and it raises the question: "Why can't street fashion be daring? Bold? Provocative?" Heavyweight is the answer; the antidote to tired clichés. This realization has led to five key points:

1. Exclusively collaborating with women.

2. Emulating groundbreaking photographers like Helmut Newton, who shattered rules and moved paradigms.

3. Creating work that frequently explores sexual subject matter, drawing inspiration from Nobuyoshi Araki's notoriety.

4. Adopting a photojournalistic approach akin to Gordon Parks, capturing our process and revealing essential cultural aspects of New York City.

5. Following the daring and formally rigorous style of Robert Mapplethorpe in our photography.

These points are crucial, as street fashion is ripe for change and evolution. Heavyweight represents the alternative. I take pride in being NYC's leading provocative lifestyle brand and the last bastion of street fashion and design.
